Zappware develops health care walled garden with iVOD for 'Socialistische Mutualiteiten'
07/04/2008
Technical and graphic redesign of interactive service results in far better user experience
Zappware, the Belgian one-stop solution provider for iDTV services which are TV-platform independent, have developed a walled garden for the 'Socialistische Mutualiteiten', which is a Belgian health care company.
Since June 07 the 'Socialistische Mutualiteiten' are also communicating with (potential) members through a walled garden which can be found in the portal of cable operator Telenet (section Extra/Health & Lifestyle). In December 07 Zappware have completely restyled the application, both graphically and technically, which resulted in a much quicker start-up and smoothier navigation.
Content-wise this healt-care walled garden includes region-depending information (depending on residential information the respective content is displayed) and interactivity in the form of quizzes, the possibility to order brochures, to launch free video (iVOD) and to search for contact details in the offices database.
The Zappware iDTV solution comes with tools for the client to update the content himself through a user-friendly web interface of Zappware's iView Portal.
The walled garden of the 'Socialistische Mutualiteiten' will be promoted via a red button displayed in tv ads running on the regional TV stations. Digital Telenet viewers who press the red button on their TV remotes while watching the spots will then access the walled garden directly.
Herman Eerdekens, Commercial Director Zappware: "The client was not only seeking a better performance but also a fast time-to-air. That is why we proposed an iFormat-based solution. Our "iFormats" are solid interactive services which we have deployed before and which we built in a modular way for easy rebranding, customisation, and deployment on various TV platforms."
Patrick Verertbruggen, Vice General Secretary Socialistische Mutualiteiten: "Always striving to improve our services and extend our communication channels, we decided, as the first healt care institution in Belgium, to start communicating also via iDTV. Consumer behaviour is rapidly changing and consumers start to actually use iDTV. Zappware's iFormat allows us to face this innovating challenge and thus play a pioneering role in health care communication and services."
