VT4 digital teletext update and Direct Access™ stimulate viewer interaction

VT4 Digitext now with direct marketing campaigns and easier access

Zappware, the Belgian one-stop services provider for iDTV on multiple TV platforms, have launched a major update of the VT4 Digitext allowing ProsiebenSat1./SBS broadcaster VT4 to run (branded) direct marketing campaigns. Also, Zappware have implemented Direct Access™to facilitate access to highlights. The ultimate purpose is, of course, to generate more traffic.

Direct marketing campaigns
From now on SBS broadcaster VT4 can launch sponsored revenue drivers such as branded request forms (brochures, samples,..) and quizzes featuring brands along with their new products/services (infotainment, product placement) in their digital teletext.

Access made easy with Direct Access™
Digital Telenet viewers can now invoke the "VT4DigiText" (first launched in June 07) in two different ways: via the traditional digital teletext button and now also via the red button. Pressing the traditional digitext button leads to the index page (p. 100) while the broadcast continues to run in a scaled-down mode. Pressing the red button on the TV remote, first displays a Direct Access™menu while the broadcast continues to run full screen. This pop-up menu contains highlights allowing the viewer to access them directly and the broadcaster to push digital teletext content (VT4 and advertisers' content) but also other interactive services such as the VT4 iDTV games, walled gardens, interactive ads..

Zappware's applications always come with tools for the client to update them easily. The user-friendly web interface of Zappware's iView Portal makes it very easy for content editors to update the Digitext content.

The above-mentioned interactive services run on the platform of Belgian cable operator Telenet (MHP1.02 on ADB). However, Zappware's multiplatform approach enables deployment on other Set-top-box/middleware combinations (e.g. OpenTV, IPTV,...).
